Will driving single-ended signal to diff help

This might be a little off topic, but I do want to know the answer before I proceed with either a24 or some other single ended to differential buffer/driver.

Currently my DAC has only single ended output, and my DIY amp has THAT1200 receiver. THAT1200 is differential receiver but has the capability of clipping XLR cold into ground. I have no problem using my current DAC and Amp combination with a pseudo XLR cable (XLR cold shorted to shield at the RCA side).

To me, driving the single ended signal from my DAC into differential signal seems to only add more noise from the driver/preamp, plus +6dB of existing noise from the DAC (if the preamp has 6dB gain from single-ended to differential).

Any suggestions or comments are greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Since your system is primarily unbalanced (the THAT1200 produces only an unbalanced output), it makes not much sense to convert your unbalanced DAC output to balanced/diferential, only to have the THAT1200 convert it back to unbalanced.
