USB not working (Error -71, not responding)

Hi all,

I hope someone can help me. I have built a y1 with F++ configuration as a basis for a y2. The DAC part works if I connect S/PDIF or a digital signal; however, when I connect the system to a USB port on my computer (in this case Linux), Isee the following messages:

> [40184.768896] usb 1-1: new full-speed USB device number 63 using xhci_hcd
> [40184.888944] usb 1-1: device descriptor read/64, error -71
> [40185.116851] usb 1-1: device descriptor read/64, error -71
> [40185.921132] usb 1-1: Device not responding to setup address.
> [40186.872991] usb usb1-port1: unable to enumerate USB device

"lsusb" does not find the DAC at all. So my guess is that something on the USB circuits is not correct. Has anyone seen this before? I have double-checked all connections and the only thing I can see that is left is to actually take off the SMD components and get new ones. However, before I do this, I thought to ask if someone has seen this and might have an explanation?

Any help would be appreciated!

Christian

Try reflowing the PCM2707 solder joints, as well as the parts surrounding it.
