277-1275-ND is out of stock at digikey, can we substitute A98335-ND, or will it not fit?

Looking at the datasheets, the footprint is close enough that A98335-ND would fit the board, but it is 1.5mm taller than 277-1275-ND, which might cause it to hit the parts on the Mini³ when the two are mated. Upon visual examination of my own Mini³ + χ1, there is just about that much gap... you could try the A98335-ND but the risk is yours.

Digi-key shows that 277-1275-ND will be restocked on November 3, so if you're willing to wait 1.5 weeks, you could order it at that time. Or, get it from Mouser who has more than 2000 in stock.

We haven't talked specifically about an XO, but there are certainly other uses of the χ1 than for Mini³, as long as the load's voltage and current requirements are compatible with the design. There are three mounting holes on the χ1 board which are unused for the Mini³, but could be used to mount it standalone.

This is just to let you all know that there was a mistake in the χ1 website Parts List. C4 was erroneously listed as 2.2uF but it should be 0.22uF. Also the Farnell part number was wrong. The Mouser and Digi-Key numbers were correct, though.

This error has been fixed. Sorry if it caused any inconvenience.

Thanks. I'll give it a shot and report back on how it does. I figure I could always file off a little of the plastic from the top if need be.

Do let us know how it works out, but don't file off the top, because that would expose the tightening screws which are electrically connected to the battery wires, and therefore a risk of short circuit.

Yes, I'll make sure they aren't exposed.

To everyone: Since the χ1 is now released we're no longer in a "sneak preview" mode. From now on, please post new threads in this subforum for χ1-related stuff rather than just using this thread forever.

277-1275-ND is out of stock at digikey

You could use 2 of # 277-1273-ND but you'll have to snip the little pegs off the bottom.

http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSea ... 77-1273-ND
1352.5 and counting.
