MMBTA06 NPN transistor

Postby Innocent Bystander » September 16th, 2018, 2:54 am

Having just ordered the kDCX board, I am having trouble finding a supplier of this transistor that has them in stock, or expected soon. Any suggestions for an equally good equivalent that is more readily available? Otherwise which are the key parameters so I can assess other possibilities?
Thanks!

I’ve narrowed down the search to the following two options, both available and presently in-stock with at least Farnell, Mouser and RS (though RS has a large pack size for the second one): FMMT620 and PMBTA06.

Parameter. MMBTA06. FMMT620 PMBTA06
Collector-Emitter Voltage V 80 80 80
Collector-Base Voltage V. 80 80 80
Emitter-Base Voltage V. 4 5 4
Collector Current A 0.5 1.5 0.5
Collector Dissipation W 0.35 0.625 0.25
DC Current Gain (hfe) 100 110 100
Transition Frequency MHz 100 160 100

I’m guessing thatvtge function in the circuit isn’t too critical and that either may suffice, though as PMBTA06 has a slightly lowe power capability than the original part, and not knowing the actual dissipation in the circuit, it would be better to go with the FMMT620?

You can substitute:
MMBTA06 -> MMBT3904
MMBTA56 -> MMBT3906
