how to get batteries?

Postby benjy » August 18th, 2015, 6:42 am

I'm having a hard time finding fitting batteries, they are mostly 9mm thick. Can you guys point me to the right direction please if you managed to get fitting batteries?

The internal height of the case is 20mm, so theoretically two 9mm batteries should fit. Unless yours is really thicker than that...
I got several hits when I searched ebay for HM-4G6-Z-37 or HM-4#6-Z-34.

I also got a bunch of hits when I searched for "Walkera 600mAh".
Several of them were listed as being 8mm thick.....
Avoid the listings with batteries that have a separate charge connector, I ordered a couple of those a while back and they are closer to 10mm thick. They also have an extra connector to deal with.
1352.5 and counting.

Got me calipers out. There's 16.4mm from the mini3 pcb to the ceiling of the case, so two 9mm batteries don't work too well. The case itself is fine, it would take the two batteries if the mini3 board weren't in the way. I guess the mini3 board could have a similar cutout as the x1 has, but then i really don't want to start dremeling the pcb. I ordered another set from ebay, i hope this one works. Thanks!

Oops, I forgot that I had to account for the board. Anyway, yes, 16.4mm sounds about right, and you do need each battery to be 8mm thick to fit.

I got mine off fleabay. They were actually shipped from Jeff at Glassjar Audio. I don't see them listed on his site, but it might be worth reaching out directly to see if he's got any stock.

I know jeff has a bunch of 3.7v small lipoly batteries. I grabbed a few for my arduino experiments. definitely ping him if his batts are the ones that work for your app (I am doing something else, but those batts seem to work for my app, just fine).

Since you guys went there.
I'm looking at the matched "battery packs" I have in the closet and thinking I'm slipping....
