ε21 group buy: 2-channel version of ε22 backplane

Postby amb » January 31st, 2014, 11:10 pm

This is a group-buy thread for ε21, a backplane board supporting two β22 boards (instead of three β22s on the ε22 backplane). One ε21 will support a stereo unbalanced, passive ground β22 amplifier. Two ε21s could be used to implement a 4-board stereo balanced β22.

Q. What is this backplane for?
A. Please see the ε21 website (new!) for an explanation.

Re: Interest check: 2-channel version of ε22 backplane

Hi Ti,

I just used my active ground backplane for a stereo setup so I'm wasting space on the PCB... What would be great is to implement the Sigma 22 PSU in the spot where the active ground b22 was, also if you can use the same connectors and at the same place for the b22 amps (power, out and line in) it would be great. I would be interested in a PCB if you would consider these options.

Thanks
Do

Putting the σ22 on the backplane would reduce the number of chassis configuration possibilities, so I'd like to avoid it. Also, by not having the σ22 on board, the backplane will be smaller and could fit more choices of cases. As for the connectors, sure, I'd use the same locations and types.

+2 (for next balanced build).
Pls. consider multiple power inputs (1 q22 per 1 b22 for those who plan max'ed configuration).
