Distortion on one input

Postby Innocent Bystander » October 28th, 2018, 7:03 pm

I have completed building the kDCX board and installed it, but I have a problem with distortion on input channel A. Inputs B and C seem fine, as do the outputs. Any suggestions, please, for what might be the cause and how to fix?
Thanks.

Since the problem occurs only on Input A, then you should focus on that area. Check the DC offset at the OPA1632's + and - output pins, relative to ground. Also check the DC offset at the output pins of the OPA1612.

Thank you for the tip - yes, DC offsets different from those on other channels, and checking other components revealed inconsistencies between the directly connected pins of R11 U2 & X13, leading me to find the dry joint on leg 4 pf U2. Easily rectified, and working well! All good now, so thanks again!
