It looks like three alpha20 boards with a sigma22 powersupply.

That's particleman14's 3-channel α20 in a vertical array, topped by a ε27 and Alps RK27 pot. Nice and creative.

Makes me want to do the same, but with a stack of sigma25's powering it from below. I'm with L_W on this one, but I've always been a fan of simplicity and understated looks.

Thanks for sharing the pictures!

rockcod's b22 is really nice. I like how he did with the top cover. Any idea which material is that? Doesn't look like a thick sheet of acrylic to me.

Is that silver monstrosity in the corner supposed to be THE β24? Wow, it's huge! Shame we didn't seem to have a dedicated speaker room to truly show its power.

Also, that golden γ2 is pretty bling. Love it.

The pre-amp is coming along nicely. Definitely would be looking forward to the final product.

P.S. what is that wooden AMB construct near the pre-amp supposed to be?

Yup.

Just a logo I carved out of a scrap piece of wood from about 30 years ago.

K3ct: I'm pretty sure that's 'just' a logo.
Lil' knight: it looks like some sort of polymer to me: acrylic, lexan, plexi, etc.

(I was beaten to the pnuch once again.)

It is thick acrylic - in a dark tinted color.

lesson learned from this demo/meet: make sure that your IR remote is different from those on the table next to you!

haha.

ti's and my remotes are similar enough (both were sony dvd remotes, I think) that anytime one of us would give a demo on our gear, the other one would go nuts due to stray IR pickup and having identical IR family codes setup ;)

even worse, I had setup all my own gear to the same single remote (I just really like the ergo of that one remote I use) and so any vol-up or down requests would get all 3 of my lcduino/d1 systems to click up and down at the same time. and if I pointed my remote wide enough, amb's would be clicking as well. quite often just when someone else was trying to calmly listen to their selected music. doh!!

"how come my preamp is in config mode, now?"

oops. sorry. better now?

lol.

lmao at the "remote wars" going on at the amb/linuxworks tables.

thanks for the compliments on my little a-20 tower. I kind of put that amp together for the meetup just to kind of have a really DIY item to show off. But I fear that many people were a bit tentative with actually trying the amp and opted to just look at it. At least it made nice eye candy while people listened to my other gear. dorkvader, you should build a super tower with sigma25s mounted below. I believe at least 2 holes might just barely line up to fit with the a-20 boards.

k3ct, the B-24 is always an impressive sight, it is too bad we couldn't hear it in action. Though, it was funny to see one guy try to lift the amp and his shock over the weight was amusing.
