The ζ1 Audio Widget asynchronous USB-I²S module

Board interface pin headers and receptacles

The ζ1 module is designed to be plugged into a main board (such as the γ1.5 DAC, γ3 DAC or other devices designed to use the ζ1), via pin header and receptacle strips. The convention is to mount female receptacles on the ζ1 and male pin headers on the main board.

The male pin header strips are not listed here, because they are considered to be a part of the main board. For the γ1.5 or γ3, see their parts lists.

The female receptable strips are not included with the ζ1 module, and are not stocked at AMB audio shop. You must order them separately from Digi-Key, and solder them on the ζ1 module yourself.

Sullins NPPNxx1BFCN-RC series 2mm pitch, single-row receptacle strips are specified to be used for these locations. There are three segments: 31P (pins 0-30), 30P (pins 31-60) and 15P (pins 61-75).

However, even though Sullins lists all three lengths in their catalog, the 30P and 31P strips are not stocked and requires a very large minimum order and long lead time. The solution is to use stocked lengths and join them to make the desired number of positions.
  • For pins 0-30, use 25P + 6P to make 31P
  • For pins 31-60, use 15P + 15P to make 30P
  • For pins 61-75, use one 15P
The 25P, 6P and 15P strips are normally stocked at Digi-Key. Thus, you need to order the following (per ζ1 module):
