Quiescent current check and rail splitter check failed

Postby imnotwen » May 4th, 2012, 9:41 am

Hello,

I just assembled a mini^3 and I think it failed both quiescent current check and rail splitter check.
The current I measured was ~18mA instead of ~25mA. I checked the soldering and it seems alright so I moved on.
But the rail splitter check definitely failed. The V+ V- gave ~8.7V while V- IG gave ~8.3V.
I have not turned it on yet. Can anyone give me some suggestion here?

THANKS!

Looks like U3 is dead (TLE2426). Replace it first and run through the checks again.

oops... answer my own question.

After a night waiting, I measured it again in the morning and everything is fine! What a miracle!
Maybe something was overheated right after all the soldering? I am not sure.
Anyway, everything works well now and I am using it now. This is great!

More likely a cold solder joint, which may be intermittent...
