No power LED or anything?

it is your attitude when asking for help. I have followed this and others of your threads and you are not very nice to the people who are trying to help you. I am with linux on this.

In order for us to help you, you need to take our advice and also provide us with information. You seem to just want a magic bullet and that is not going to happen over forums. Heck even if I lived near you I would not just take the board and make it work. I would want to assist you involving it so you would learn. That is the whole point of DIY.

That level of detail is fine. Take pictures of the entire board, both sides, at that level of detail and troubleshooting can begin.

I agree with hagak and linuxworks that you need to adjust your tone. Linuxworks was providing suggestions on how to take a better picture because many of your pictures were so blurry that they provided no useful information.

I gave advice on fluxing, reflowing (brushing from chip outwards) and then board cleaning, but that was ignored or 'brushed off' (lol) as well. I wasn't just saying this to be pedantic; you may actually fix the problem with those 2 steps.

photos of a fluxed-up board also are USELESS TO US.

if you want help, you should consider following our advice.

The board does need to be cleaned up, that's for sure

I have a flux pen. It helps glue the pieces down, that is the flux your seeing probably. So, if I use de-soldering wick to take those pieces off and then flux again, reflow the solder, and then clean the board with a toothbrush you think that will help me?

Don't remove any chips. Just clean the flux off the board thoroughly with high-purity isopropyl alcohol and a brush. Don't let the flux/alcohol solution get into the optical receiver/transmitter. Shoot new photos of the board and post them after cleaning.

Btw, the flux is not for "gluing the pieces down", even though that's a secondary benefit. The primary purpose of flux is to help the solder flow when you're soldering. Have you viewed the "SMD Soldering 101" video, linked on the γ1/γ2 websites' Instructions section?

Oh yeah I know, but I use it to just glue the pieces down because my solder already has flux in it! New pics coming up.

The rosin core flux inside of the solder is not enough for SMD work! It's clear you haven't viewed the video tutorial, or you would have known that.
