You're trying to measure a voltage test point on the γ1 DAC section, relative to the ground on the γ1 USB section, while it's not mated to the γ2 board. When they are not mated together, the grounds are not connected, so you're essentially measuring nothing. Not only that, since you're using USB power, without mating the boards together, the won't be any power on the γ1 DAC section or the γ2 board.

Yes I already knew that. Well I guess I forgot it when I measured that point. For now I think I will just reflow all the joints the best I can. Actually I am just going to wait on someone who knows what they are doing. I have a guy on Head-fi who might be able to help me so I am going to wait on him.

All of my photos were taken with the Macro setting, I don't know how much clearer they could be. It took me forever to get them that clear. I see nothing wrong with them, what all do you need to read. I don't know how to solder well. I do have a flux pen which helps stick some pieces to the board, but I will still mess up when using the flow and wipe technique for soldering these on. If anyone could do that for me I think it would probably work, but I am still unsure. At the moment, it seems that is where my problem is for sure, because I see nothing else wrong with the board. Could a few tiny solder bridges, etc at those surface mount pieces cause the power not to work?

We need pictures clear enough to see if there's a solder bridge. Even a single solder bridge in the wrong place can possibly cause multiple parts to fail.

Well, hope you can see the solder bridges there. When I look at the board, it all looks perfect. But when I take pictures like this it looks like there is a solder bridge every pin.

No power LED or anything?

Well those photos are not clear enough to see details in the solder. However in the one above it appears you could have a solder bridge on U5D and U1D. However the pictures are pretty blurry so it is hard to say for sure.

if you are using a nikon s3000, that should be plenty good enough.

I don't know that model but again, I'm pretty sure your focal length is wrong. lenses can't focus closer than a certain point.

it could also be that you are not getting a proper focus, even if close enough. your exif said you used flash and so the shutter speed (1/30) should not be a problem unless the flash is not hitting the subject. I still suggest taking it off flash and using high ISO and handheld. the self-timer lets you press the button, RELEASE, wait a few seconds and then it auto-trips. that gets you beyond the button 'shake' that I'm sure is also part of your problem.

and again, back off the distance. you have 12mp. that's enough to crop and crop! if you back (or at least zoom out; that's also helpful in getting a close-up shot) and then crop in your photo editor, that will help.

I do have 12 MP, but I use it on the save to PC setting so it's lower resolution.
