I bought 2 of these when there was a group buy

http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/blogs/tea-bag/296-salas-dcb1-blue-edition.html

It is the Hypnotize revision. Unfortunately, I don't know if the impedance is low enough for the B24...

Do you know about it?

Ciao!

Thanks!

I'll soon post the latest pictures.

This amp sounds fantastic! I have it connected in balanced mode to my dual mono Buffalo II with Tube-I-Zator tube I/V and let's not forget the Statements speakers I just finished! These gears together sound quite amazing.

Ok, now I have to calm down! :D

I was thinking of having the top cover done in semi opaque grey 1/4" thick with the same grill layout as Ti's version but with a big B24 logo centered right in the middle of the cover

Ideally I'd love to have the side perimeter rounded on top to smooth things out but I don't think Front Panel does that...

Do you think that would look good?

So here's the latest pictures of my build!

Just missing the top cover which will be semi opaque gray acrylic

I had the handles but it was not my cup of tea... So I removed them and replaced with hex screws. It gives it a tough industrial kinda look... For now it is good but I might redo it eventually...

Here's a running picture!
Image

I've put in about 75 hours of run time on it and it opened up some more

The amp has Incredible imaging with a deep and wide stage. Layering is also much better than my Aleph 5. What struck me the most is the total quietness of this amp, no background noise whatsoever in balanced mode. Didn't try SE yet but I'm planning to build Ti's new preamp. Now I can really "hear" what dead quiet and black background are... Instruments are extremely palpable! Wow!!!

Of course, all of this has to be rendered on a good pair of speakers and a good source. My source is a Dual Mono BII with Dual Tube-I-Zator tube I/V output with Shunt module. I can hear a bit more details and precision when using the Legato Solid State I/V but the "coloration" of the tube and the "3D" imaging and tone that it creates is a must for me. Speakers are DIY Jim Holtz Statements

I'm currently using the BII Volumite as volume control but I believe it is not optimal and gain is not appropriate.

Now I'm in a dilemma... B22 balanced or a10 as preamp for the B24???

Ciao!

Moderator's Note:
From this point on, this thread originally went on to discuss about a suitable balanced preamp for Pinnocchio's β24. I have split that off into its own thread: A new take on α10 - The balanced version!. This would make the subject easier to find when browsing the forum.

Still have not had the chance and money to send the semi opaque grey acrylic top cover but will do it soon!

Keep you updated!
