AMB fans:
I'm considering selling my B&K AVP1000 pre-amp (non-balanced version) that now has three 8-DIP sockets for the 2 pre-amp and 1 headphone op amps. Currently it is fitted with two LM4562 for pre-amp and one OP2227 for hp.
First the bad news: Something's wonky with several of the surround sound modes, in that the main stereo outputs thump when the volume is changed (but only in a surround mode -- in stereo, it is fine). I assume somethings wrong with the surround processor chip. But since I only use it as a stereo pre-amp, this is not an issue for me.
I'm awaiting a replacement spring for the volume control from B&K, as it is currently not self-centering.
Original remote is included, and is in fine condition except I have a piece of tape over the rear battery cover to keep it secure.
Good news: Now, with the new op amps, it sounds fantastic! Headphone output is also very good! And with the sockets I added, op amps can be swapped out for other 8-DIPs of one's choice. Overall, this preamp is in fine cosmetic condition with no scratches or marks, and print is like new. I've had it since I bought it used in about 1997 and always keep my things very nice. It uses good quality pcb, so it is pretty easy to avoid lifting traces while replacing components. I have the service manual available as a PDF and original owner's manual as hard copy.
I'm looking for $190 plus shipping. USA buyers only, please.
