You could go DIY and pick up some half-inch thick aluminium panels from onlinemetals or somewhere to make a bombproof enclosure.
I think I'm back.

You could also find some cookie tin or something similar that could work for you. Not sure what your budget/application is.
Don't forget to listen to the music!

I cased up one of my headphone amps in a Pokemon tin. Came out pretty cool!

Yes, that's always a good idea. Once, I saw an amp (beta22, I believe) in a fancy tin, I know I had to try that sometime.

+Pictures, Billyk?

there are many options as far as cases. I once saw a cmoy in a KFC box.
I think I'm back.

I'm going with a B3-160BK from Box Enclosures. It's from the family of enclosures that mate with the stock AMB faceplates for the Gamma 2, except it is taller and much deeper (6.3'' deep). The B3-080 is the same depth as the Gamma 2, but you'd have a hell of a time getting an IEC comfortably into it because it is only as deep as the Gamma 2. I'm using a rather huge IEC with a fuse and switch included, so I needed a deeper enclosure. I'll include some pictures to give you guys an idea.

Once I finally get around to drilling the plates, I'll update, but it'll probably be a while! I think I'll keep a simple front panel, just a hole in the center for an LED. The IEC and DC out will be cozy in the back.

Carton132, what's the model of the transformer you have on that s24? I've been looking for one that's large enough to power the y1/y2 combo but still small enough to fit in the b3-080 case without much luck.

Try Newark Part Number: 87P0453
or
Digi-Key Part Number: TE62011-ND

(that is what I used for this -----> http://s23.photobucket.com/albums/b393/ ... igma%2025/ )

Thanks! I actually had that part number noted in my notes, but for some reason yesterday I was thinking that the s24 was the only way to do a transformer; I blame lack of sleep for that oversight. :P I actually had that wiring pic from the h-f thread saved but the link seemed to have died sometime between when I saved it and yesterday. I'm saving those pics this time as reference material :ugeek: Did you do the casing and mounting board cuts with a dremel? Very very neat job there!

I'm actually planning on doing some potting of the mini-toroid along with some mu-metal for a DIY shielded/potted mini-toroid, as long as I can find a properly fitting sacrificial container to hold the epoxy and toroid. Closest thing I've found so far has been a measuring cup :lol:
