About to power up my σ22, is the wiring correct?

Postby flargosa » January 22nd, 2012, 3:15 pm

Guys, is the sequence of my transformer to σ22 wiring good? For the transformer to AC it is blue and black wired together straight to the fuse and gray and brown wired together. Also which one goes to neutral and which one goes to live?

red and orange should be the middle 2 wires.

there is no native hot or neutral on the primary.

Thanks, works great. Multimeter is showing voltage at 29.45 +/-. :D

Oops, I've just wired it up as it's on the photo - orange and black in the middle.
Switch the Sigma22 on-off a couple of times to check.
Still got good voltage out - about +/- 29.3

Could it make any damage? :(

Probably no damage if it hasn't been loaded much, but it's out of phase. You should correct it.

I think I've made a similar mistake on my Sigma22. On my transformer, the wires are as follows:

yellow (30V) - red (0V)
white (30V) - black (0V)

On mine, the red & black leads are the 0V taps, the yellow & white leads are the 30V taps. I've wired the yellow and white to the outer connectors and the red and black to the inner two ground connectors. Is that the wrong way around? The supply has been loaded - I've had beta22 boards connected. If there were any damage, how would it manifest?

Yup, it's wrong. It should be connected to the σ22 either as yellow, red, white, black, or black, white, red, yellow.

Could I have damaged anything, given I've used to to power up my beta22 boards like that?
