hardnrg's M³

This single-case M³, built by hardnrg, features an all-black Hifi2000 Galaxy Maggiorato GX283 case with a 10mm thick black anodized front panel, custom milled by Schaeffer AG (Front Panel Express), with red infill for the labels. 39mm and 18mm black milled knobs, Neutrik locking headphone jack, Lamptron black delrin momentary contact power switch with red ring illumination, brushed aluminum feet, and a blue over-temperature indicator LED complete the front panel. The rear panel contains a pair of gold-plated input RCA phono jacks and a fused IEC power inlet module.

Inside, the M³ board features OPA627 opamps and Vishay-Roederstein MKP1837 polypropylene caps for the bass boost, but is otherwise as specified by the standard M³ parts list. A pair of 6.8µF polycarbonate caps were added to the input jacks to block DC offset from the source.

The power supply is a σ11 configured to output 36V. An ε24 power switch driver board is used for the momentary power switch, and its thermal-sensor function is implemented on the σ11 heatsinks. Finally, a simplified ε12 circuit is also employed for turn on/off muting delay (the DC offset protection function is omitted).
