set300b's M³The M³ built by set300b features OPA627 opamps, Nichicon Muse KZ electrolytic caps, WIMA MKP2 polypropylene caps, Vishay-Dale RN55 resistors, and a stepped attenuator sourced from diyfidelity.com.au. The "bass boost" potentiometer is wired as a variable gain control, and the output MOSFETs are biased to 110mA. The amp is powered by a STEPS PSU set to 32V located in a separate case with a Neutrik Power Conn AC connector. The cases were purchased at a local Fry's Electronics store, and the amp is fitted with Kilo knobs.M³ by fordgtloverThis M³ by fordgtlover is housed in a Hammond 1455T2201BK case. The board is mounted such that the heatsinks touch the top cover when it is in place, making the whole case act as an extension of the heatsinks. Several holes are drilled on each side of the case to help cooling.Inside, Elna Silmic II and Nichicon Muse KZ electrolytic capacitors, Vishay-BC MKT370 film capacitors and Vishay-Dale RN55D resistors are used. The volume control is an Alps RK27 with a Kilo soft-touch knob, and the bass boost option was not installed. The opamps are AD8610ARs. The MOSFETs are biased to 90mA. The companion 24V STEPS power supply is housed in a Hammond 1455N1201BK enclosure. threEchelon's M³A home-made poplar wood case houses threEchelon's M³ and a beefed up 36V STEPS power supply. This amplifier has four sets of selectable inputs (three RCA phono, one 3.5mm mini TRS). The input selector switch is mounted near the rear panel with a shaft extension to the front panel knob. Three headphone jacks (two 1/4" TRS and one 4-pin XLR) are found on the front panel, speaker connectors are at the rear panel, as well as loop-out and pre-amp out. All RCA jacks are from Cardas and the 1/4" headphone jacks are locking jacks from Neutrik. Each of the headphone, speaker and pre-amp outputs have individual mute switches. The voltage gain is selectable between 8, 11, 13 and 17. The front panel has two translucent squares illuminated by eight LEDs. This was intended to be used to light up a M³ logo, which threEchelon has yet to make at the time these photos were taken. This M³ uses OPA627 opamps and has an otherwise standard parts selection. M³ by rilleThis single-box M³ by rille of Germany is characterized by very clean construction, neat wire dressing and routing. An Elcal enclosure is used. The top is well-ventilated with a perforated metal grille cover. A unique "Star Knob" from OKW, featuring a red backlit ring, operates the Alps RK27 volume control pot. The σ11 PSU with a 100VA encapsulated toroidal transformer is set to output 24V DC. The headphone is kept safe by a ε12 muting delay and protection circuit. The M³ uses standard parts (1% metal film resistors, WIMA MKS caps and standard 105° electrolytic caps). The heatsinks are 2" high.
naamanf's M³This M³ is housed in two Hammond 1455T2201BK cases with special zebra wood front/rear panels and knobs made by naamanf. The amplifier features mostly default recommended parts except for Black Gate and Muse KZ capacitors. A selection of opamps (OPA627/OPA637, AD8610AR, AD8065AR and AD825AR) are used. The σ11 PSU features Nichicon caps, an Amveco toroidal transformer and an AC line filter.M³ by StixxThis meticulous M³ by Stixx features a home-made enclosure with lush wood and plastic panels. A σ11 power supply is in the same chassis. This M³ features Vishay-Dale CMF55-143 resistors (except for the power resistors), Panasonic FC electrolytic capacitors on the rails (except for the main σ11 reservoir cap, which is a Panasonic TS-HA), Vishay-BC MKP film caps, switchable bass-boost equipped with 0.288µF Wima MKP4, TKD volume potentiometer, and AD8610 and AD845 opamps. The output MOSFETs are biased to ~90mA. Page: 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 Main: M³ Main | Prev: History | Next: Buy |
